Job overview

We are looking to appoint a PE & Games teacher to be part of our highly-committed and passionate team. The role would suit a recently qualified teacher or someone looking for a new opportunity.

The post requires an individual with the ability to coach, lead and inspire our pupils. You must be motivated, highly-organised, approachable, with good interpersonal skills, particularly in communicating with parents. The successful candidate will have the ability and confidence to teach a range of activities across our diverse curriculum. They will have experience in at least two of our main sports of football, netball, hockey, rugby and cricket.

The capability to coach swimming and have experience of working with a variety of Key Stages would also be beneficial.

Notting Hill Prep is a “Thinking School”, a title which reflects its intelligent approach to education and its devotion to instilling in its children the values of resilience, creativity and responsibility, which it holds dear. The school aims to teach children not merely to learn, but to learn how to learn. The ability to imbed ‘Thinking School’ practices in all lessons will be a requirement.

The school, situated a stone’s throw from Portobello Road in West London, is in the midst of an exciting period of expansion. We are a school where ambitious, professional and committed teachers are well supported, can learn quickly and advance their careers.

The role will involve contact with, and responsibility for, children and will amount to ‘regulated activity’.

The post is advertised as full-time but for the right candidate there may be the opportunity for a part-time position (4 days per week).

The salary and package are generous and subject to experience.

Free school lunches are provided and there will be the opportunity to join our private medical health scheme.

If you are keen to join our team, please tick the ‘Apply’ button to submit your application form.

The closing date is 9am on 17th April 2023. Interviews will take place shortly afterwards.  Short-listed candidates can expect to have an interview and to teach an observed lesson.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess the suitability to work with children.

NHP is an equal opportunities employer.
