Hours: 32.5 hours per week Monday - Friday

We are seeking an experienced Teacher who will be required to deliver both PE and Science lessons to meet the changing needs of our pupils, under the direction of the heads of departments.

The ability to teach A Level would be an advantage but is not essential.  As a core subject in our curriculum the successful candidate will be expected to prepare and enter pupils for appropriate external examinations under the support of the HOD. 

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that pupils’ special educational needs are being addressed in line with the pupils individual ECHp and having due regard for the School's philosophy and policies.

If you an passionate and outstanding teacher, are flexible, imaginative and enthusiastic we would be pleased to hear from you.  Experience of working in a specialist school is not essential as the school runs its own extensive training programme.

Rossendale is a school catering for the needs of pupils who display social, emotional and mental health difficulties and whose learning disability may be affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Pupils will have either a Statement of SEN or an EHCP. 

Our School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age.  At Key Stage 4, we currently offer up to 11 GCSE subjects (including Maths and Statistics), iGCSE in Further Maths, BTEC Awards in 4 subjects, plus 3 Functional Skills and Entry Level in 5 subject areas.  Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results.  The school admits both boys and girls, both on daily and residential placements. 

References
