For the last 300 years, Rishworth School has occupied magnificent buildings in 140 acres of Yorkshire countryside in the Ryburn Valley.

We are seeking to appoint a part-time PE/Games Teacher (0.6FTE) the role will cover 5 days per week, afternoons only. Due to the nature of the role a female teacher is required, (an occupational requirement as allowed for in the Equality Act 2010).

The successful candidate will add to a strong team and contribute to the high standards of PE held at Rishworth School. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality practical lessons and coaching sessions that instil a love for the subject and a desire to improve.

The successful applicant will be an experienced qualified teacher, able NQT or experienced coach with a passion for physical health and education. You will be expected to take a full and active role, not just in lessons, but also in after-school and Saturday morning fixtures. An ability to coach and umpire hockey and netball, as well as to teach GCSE PE, would be advantageous.

Energy, commitment and a willingness to take a full and active part in the broader life of this busy school are essential. The successful candidate will be passionate and committed to the enrichment and extension of the students’ learning experience and supporting children who have specific learning needs.

About Rishworth School

Rishworth School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through independent day and boarding school situated in Rishworth, West Yorkshire. The school has a Christian ethos but welcomes students from all faiths. There are approximately 450 pupils at Rishworth, between the ages of 3-19.

Rishworth School was established in 1724 by John Wheelwright in a small building, now used as the school’s chapel. The junior school, Heathfield opened in 1951. The school is set around 130 acres of parkland. It is a founder member of the Society of Headmasters for Independent Schools (SHMIS). Rishworth and Heathfield both offer an extensive range of learning facilities and share a swimming pool, performing arts centre and playing fields.
