The Team

Participation in sports activities at Bridlington School forms a vital part of our well-being curriculum and has been vital to ensuring that we allow young people to develop physically and mentally to support their health and well-being. Students enjoy studying PE and Sport throughout the three key stages of their development and it is our intention to increase the numbers of students who choose to continue to study sport with us at Level 3 in the sixth form.

The department benefits from 3 indoor areas and excellent outdoor spaces to deliver sports such as hockey, football, rugby and orienteering. The team have just secured a £20,000 grant to improve the delivery of gymnastics, hockey, volleyball and fitness. This is an exciting time as we embark upon a stronger, more developed relationship with our local sports clubs, parents/carers and community. We are passionate about raising aspirations, confidence and self-esteem through the channel of sport and take every opportunity to build and develop character in our students. Extra-curricular clubs are well attended and a lot of our students play sport for clubs outside of school. We have an excellent sports TA who is extremely enthusiastic and an integral part of our team. Our team collaborate well together, are extremely supportive of each other and bring about some fantastic achievements together. The environment we work in is friendly and vibrant and offers an excellent surrounding to deliver high quality teaching.

What we can offer You

It is an exciting time to join Bridlington School as we continue to strengthen relationships with other local Education providers including nearby Secondary Schools and Primary Feeders. This provides opportunity to be involved in transition and outreach work, but also connections with peers across the local area.

The school has a genuine and sustained focus on reducing workload, particularly in relation to marking and feedback.

Bridlington School looks to develop its staff and provide opportunities for progression; many of our senior staff joined Bridlington School as NQTs/ECTs.

You will be a role model to our students who will look up to you and see all the TORCH qualities we strive to achieve in our students.
