PE Teacher

Prasarnmit Primary International Programme seeks an inspirational PE Teacher. We are looking for applicants who are energetic, highly inspired and motivated; passionate about childcare and education; committed to achieving high standards of learning; and keen to create a stimulating, positive and child-centered learning environment.


Qualifications: 

  • A degree in related fields, a PGCE or equivalent leading to qualified teacher status.


Main Job and Responsibilities: 

  • To provide stimulating and inspiring lessons in PE that all children can access appropriately. 
  • Run and timetable extracurricular programmes. 
  • To help organise GBAC fixtures, and attend competitions.
  • To coach extracurricular activities such as Football and Basketball.
  • Evaluating and adapting the curriculum where appropriate.  
  • To help organize and run Sports days/galas. 
  • To help organise inter-house student and staff events.
  • Provide online learning if necessary. 
  • Produce workout videos for weekly use by all students. 
  • To build and maintain professional relationships with the school community. 
  • To provide written reports and informal dialogue to parents on the development, progress, and attainment of children in PE and Swimming.
  • To work in partnership with others to maximise effectiveness and raise standards.
  • To work with management to ensure continuous professional development and critical analysis of performance; to attend INSET days and contribute to staff development. 
  • To be willing to take on extracurricular activities.
  • To act as a positive role model showing enthusiasm for development and learning.


Skills/Abilities: 

  • Have knowledge and an interest in how children learn and how this can be applied to a learning environment.
  • Use teaching methods that capture pupils’ interest, maintain their engagement and encourage them to develop a lifelong love of learning. 
  • Ability to organise and manage a class to promote an effective learning environment through excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Good athletic ability and knowledge of the human body.
  • Good leadership and communication skills with a strong ability to motivate and inspire.
  • Experience or knowledge of planning PE lessons and activities for EAL learners.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in planning and implementing the school’s curriculum, strategic plans and policies.
  • To be able to show resilience and cope with the demands of working in a different culture.
  • A commitment to further your own professional development and to the principle of continuous improvement. 
  • A commitment to upholding high standards of child safety and safeguarding, and acting responsibly at all times.
  • A commitment to representing the school both inside and outside of the classroom, and to upholding the high standards of respect ingrained in Thai culture and international mindedness.
  • Be able to think creatively, use your own initiative and think critically to provide the best possible opportunities for the children at our school.


Requirements: 

  • At least 1 year’s teaching experience 
  • Fluent level English speaker 
  • Up-to-date DBS or police check equivalent to work with children 
  • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is essential 
  • Experience working with EAL learners is an advantage 


Contract type: 

  • 2 year contract (renewable) 
  • Competitive salary (paid in Thai Baht)
