About Yardley Court

Yardley Court Prep school was established in 1898 in Yardley Park Road, Tonbridge and moved to the Somerhill Estate in 1990.Now housed in a Grade one listed Jacobean Mansion and surrounded by 150 acres of parkland, the Schools at Somerhill sit on a rise at the southern edge of Tonbridge, a landmark to the local community.

Yardley Court is one of the three schools which together form The Schools at Somerhill and, whilst each of the schools has a distinct individual identity, there is a shared ethos and a strong sense of community. An IAPS day school Yardley Court has some 240+ boys aged 7 – 13 most of whom come from our own pre-prep, Somerhill Pre-Prep. This is a coeducational school of approximately 270 pupils aged 3 - 6. The boys all come through to Yardley Court and the girls to our sister school, Derwent Lodge, which currently has 130+ pupils aged 7 – 11. Hence we have some 640+ pupils here on site at Somerhill.

The Schools at Somerhill are busy – life here is ‘full-on’ and never dull. We can offer you bright and enthusiastic children, stunning buildings, extensive and beautiful grounds, marvellous facilities, supportive and friendly colleagues together with real job satisfaction.
