Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced, proactive and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach KS2, KS3 & KS4 (5º- 9º) in various areas such as fitness, basketball, football, gymnastics, athletics and tennis. We also have a broad extra-curricular programme and we are looking for a candidate to coach volleyball, fitness/running clubs and athletics for different age groups at the highest level with our teams. Experience teaching in these sports is essential. Good spoken and written English is essential too.

This is a full time post. The post would be available from 3 January 2023 or soon as possible thereafter.

The ability to teach PE / Sports Science to Key Stage 4 would also be an advantage.

We have a strong pastoral system and the successful candidate may be asked to take an active role as a tutor.

To facilitate the learning of students and promote the effective development of all individuals in our learning community.

From Nursery (age 3+) to Year 11 (age 16+) St. Julian’s models the curricula on those currently mandated to schools in England by the UK Department for Education. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) embraces the two years of Nursery and Reception, ages three to five. Thereafter students progress through the Key Stages of the curriculum.

The Secondary section attempts to nurture in each student a sense of self-confidence and happiness; students are encouraged to speak up for themselves and relationships between teachers and students are lively, engaging and stimulating. At the end of Key Stage 4, students take a series of public examinations (GCSE and IGCSEs).

After age 16, St. Julian’s prepares students for university by offering courses leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma. St. Julian’s consistently achieves extraordinary results.
