We are currently seeking a PE Technician to support our PE Department and assist with extra-curricular activities and duties, clubs and fixtures. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sport and have experience of coaching and motivating young people to achieve the best they can. Experience of coaching football and/or rugby in particular would be advantageous.

The PE Department currently consists of seven full-time members of teaching staff and three sports coaches who support extra-curricular activities.  The dedicated staff work as a strong team and meet regularly in order to share ideas and resources in order to raise standards. Sport has a strong visual presence in the school which is recognised and celebrated at all key stages.

The department’s facilities include a two-storey sports hall which comprises of a main sports hall, a dance studio and a well-equipped fitness room. The department also has two all-weather surfaces areas, two additional hard surface areas for tennis or netball and one new tennis court which was completed a few years ago. Our playing fields accommodate two football pitches and one rugby pitch in the winter, and a 400m track, long jump and high jump areas, three rounders pitches and a softball pitch in the summer.

We are looking for good leadership and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a supportive team. A current, clean driving license would be advantageous.  

The role requires working as a PE Coach, 3 mornings a week, at Hinchley Wood Primary School (part of the Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership), which is adjacent to the Secondary school site.

The role is required during term time only, with the expected pattern of hours over 5 days to be 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.00pm on Fridays. This will be agreed and finalised with the successful candidate. The salary for 38 hours a week, for 38 weeks a year is £19,347 per annum.

Hinchley Wood School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school based in Surrey, for students between the ages of 11 and 18. It gained academy status in 2012 and multi academy status in 2019 - Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership.  In October 2019 Hinchley Wood Primary School joined the Partnership.
