Job overview

Leeds City College is one of the UK’s largest FE establishments with around 1200 employees and over 35,000 students. Offering a diverse curriculum within a vibrant and multicultural learning environment, our goal is to deliver excellent and innovative education which supports and inspires every student to achieve their ambitions.

The Student Life team is responsible for the personal development, behaviour and welfare of all our students. We directly deliver services for careers guidance, employability, work experience, student enrichment and engagement, student voice, financial support, safeguarding and wellbeing. We also help our curriculum teams to put in place activities and learning opportunities to make sure every student at  Leeds City College is inspired to have big ambitions,  enjoys student life, achieves their qualifications and moves on to the further study, jobs and careers they aspire to.

We are recruiting a number of higher level Project Management apprentices who will deliver projects in the following areas: Student Life (cross college restorative practice and mentoring projects); Equality, Diversity and Inclusion projects; Careers Inspiration projects (including employer engagement) and Higher Education progression and aspiration projects. These higher level apprenticeships usually last between 18 to 24 months and lead to level 4 qualifications in Project Management.

The Performance and Projects Coordinator will have oversight of student life projects (including restorative practice and mentoring projects), coordinate the monitoring of performance and quality for the personal development, behaviour and welfare of students across the college and line manage project management higher apprentices. This is a new role for which we are seeking a highly motivated and inspirational individual, who relates equally well to students and to staff, and who combines the technical skills for quality monitoring with the ability to establish and drive project delivery in a large and complex environment.

Interviews for this role are likely to take place on 21st / 22nd December 2017.
