Salary: Scale 4, Spine Point 7 £24,279, pro rata to £21,092.74 Term time only

Contract Type: Full Time (Term Time only). Fixed until 31 August 2022 in the first instance with the possibility of extension.

About the Department

The Performance Faculty comprises Drama, Art & Photography, Music and Food Technology and the Performance Technician is required to support with the smooth running of the Drama, Art and Music subject areas and should therefore have a keen interest in these areas and A-level (or equivalent) or degree knowledge of one or more of the subject areas. Ideally the technician would have knowledge of sound and lighting equipment or a keenness to develop these skills.

The Performance Faculty at UCL Academy is highly successful and committed to inspiring a love of creativity and a passion for the Arts in all our students. The Arts subjects are popular at GCSE and we currently have Art groups at A-level. All subject areas offer internal and external opportunities for our students, including theatre and gallery visits and the Technician would be expected to support with these.

What we Want

• Someone who can support class teachers in creating and maintaining an orderly, safe and productive working environment within the Performance Faculty

• To assist with the technical elements of school productions and concerts

• Help to prepare teaching resources, cutting and preparing materials for classes.

• Work with groups of pupils under the guidance of the class teacher in each subject area at a designated time period

• Be willing to support with extra-curricular activities, including trips & Performance events

• Be proactive, approachable, calm and professional;

• Have excellent communication skills and a high level of personal organisation;

• To have the highest standards at all times to ensure maximum progress and outcomes for learners.
