The position of Performing Arts (Music) Teacher reports to the Head of SAVVIN Campus. The main purpose of the job is teaching Music at Brookes SAVVIN to promote, lead and teach music across all classes (PN-Y2) at SAVVIN campus, and in After School Activities.


Requirements:

·     Teaching qualification: Fully Qualified Teacher with a specialisation in teaching Music:

·     Previous experience of teaching young children;

·     Ability to sing and play the piano is core to the role;

·     Ability, patience and creativity to teach young age-groups (2 years – 7 years).

·     A broad knowledge and skill-set in Music to teach and support children in their musical development, with a strong focus on creating, performing, and evaluating;

·     Ability to adapt to a changing environment and demonstrate flexibility in lessons;

·     Ability to bring a high level of enthusiasm and energy into lessons;

·     A strong understanding of child development (2-7 years) and how best to teach music at various ages;

·     Willingness to work collaboratively and contribute to Music development across our Moscow campuses;

·     A consistent commitment to high levels of pastoral care; 

·     Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English;

·     Positive and innovative mindset even in challenging situations;

·     Expectations of high standards of learning and behaviour from students; and the ability to challenge and support all students on an individual basis;

·     A willingness to contribute to the wider school community;

·     Caring nature towards students and families;

·     Compliant with Child Safeguarding Requirements.


Responsibilities:

·     To lead high quality Music lessons by adapting what is being taught to suit individual learning needs of students;

·     To play a significant role in organising and leading musical elements of assemblies, concerts, performances, and school events;

·     To plan high quality music lessons in line with EYFS and PYP principles and curriculum outcomes;

·     To be aware of safety in all environments;

·     To maintain an inventory of all musical equipment and ensure it is safe, clean and well maintained;

·     To take a leading role in the school’s extra-curricular activities programme;

·     Be a role model to the students and contribute to promoting a love and enjoyment of music within the school;

·     To consistently set high standards and expectations for learning:

·     To liaise with the Head of Music at Brookes Moscow and be available to work collegiately in cross campus events;

·     Correspond with parents to report progress in music lessons and promote high expectations and standards in relation to music performance among the families of our school.
