Performing Arts Teacher/ Drama Teacher_2022/23

Overview

For a highly motivated and qualified teacher of music and performing arts to join the school.  The position is full time and includes teaching students from 8 years of age up to 18 years of age where needed. The position involves teaching in line with the PYP, MYP and DP curriculums including planning and assessment of students.  

Requirements

● Teaching degree in music/ performing arts (drama);

● Fluent English language level;

● Ability to teach both music and performing arts (drama) classes; 

● Teaching experience and willingness to work with students aged 8-18;

● Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning;

● Excellent organisational and time management skills;

● High sense of responsibility;

● Adaptable and flexible to the requirements of the school;

● Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute school wide performances.

Responsibilities

● To plan and deliver lessons in accordance with IB PYP, MYP and DP requirements;

● To assign, correct and mark work carried out by students;

● To assess students following the IB PYP and MYP guidelines;

● To record and report students’ progress as per the school’s guidelines;

● To communicate, consult and cooperate with other members of the school staff and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students; 

● To carry out the rota duties within school life;

● To run an after-school drama or music club; 

● To carry out other duties as may from time to time be requested;

● Be a pastoral form tutor if requested.
