About the role

There is a both a dance and music role available within the Performing Arts Department. The Dance role will be linked closely to the Physical Education Department.

You will be an effective professional who will deliver the vision and ethos of the school which is centered on learning in a bilingual environment, through a blended curriculum, offering students an international mindset whilst still nurturing pride and respect for their own culture and traditions.  You will be passionate about teaching performing arts to students across both the Primary and Secondary stages of learning with a particular focus on either music or dance and have a desire to teach the Juilliard Creative Curriculum (JCC) that is offered in all Nord Anglia Education schools.

We will look to you to promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s curriculum and creating a learning culture where students are confident to be socially, academically and personally ambitious.  You will foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning and discussion. NACISS provides a high quality and distinctive learning programme for our students, drawing on the best of education worldwide and maximizing the benefits of our Strategic Alliance with Nord Anglia Education.

As a qualified teacher, it will be an advantage if you are familiar with a wide range of curriculums including the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). Broader knowledge of the IB philosophy as a whole would be desirable but not essential. Experience of teaching students within a bilingual setting will be an advantage but not a prerequisite, a desire to teach in a multicultural environment is a must.

Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international, multicultural environment, you will bring a degree, a recognised teaching qualification and two years teaching experience.

Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement. Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.

You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions of living and working in China.

Selection Process

The closing date for application is Friday 15 December. First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at Strategic Alliance Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing Monday 29 January 2018 (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).
