Job overview

The North East learning Trust is a growing multi-academy Trust which covers the north east of England. All schools in the Trust share a simple, shared vision - that every child experiences excellence every day. We are committed to working together to ensure that every child thrives in a safe, stimulating environment where they develop a deep love of learning that will stay with them for their whole lives.

Due to our expansion, we have identified a need for additional capacity to support partner schools and are looking to recruit an experienced and confident ICT Support Technician to join the existing team. The role will require placement at Ashington Academy and when the need arises our Bedlington site, necessitating the need for a real self-motivator with a proven history of achieving both team based and independent results.

The ICT Support Technician will assist in all aspects relating to the care and maintenance of computing, audio, visual, printing and telephony equipment and supporting junior staff as required. The role will encompass 1st to 3rd line support, but could also require working with senior technical staff with project based works.

All visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office, to arrange an appointment on 01670 812166. This post is subject to a full-enhanced DBS disclosure.

Closing date: Friday 31 August 2018

Short-listing: 3 September 2018

Interviews: w/c/ 10 September 2018

For further information, please download an application pack from the Trust website: www.nelt.co.uk or www.ashingtonacademy.co.uk or Jade Hutton, Support Services Manager on 01670 822625 . This should be returned to jade.hutton@bedlingtonacademy.co.uk or to Jade Hutton, Bedlington Academy, Palace Road, Bedlington, NE22 7DS.

The North East Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure.

The North East Learning Trust is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We want to develop a more diverse workforce and we positively welcome applicants from all sections of the community.

There has never been a more exciting time to join Ashington Academy. Recently rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in March 2022, our school has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years, and we are extremely proud to be recognised to be providing a high quality education to the children of this south Northumberland community.

We are now taking the next steps in our ambitious journey, continuing to ensure that all students are able to thrive academically, socially and in their wider personal development.

We have highly committed staff and a strong and enthusiastic governing body. Parents are very supportive of the school. We have a thriving programme of extra-curricular activities and adult education. Many of our students are qualified sports leaders through the Junior, Community and Higher Sports Leadership Awards. We regularly have charity fundraising events and have a lot of fun in the process of raising thousands of pounds for deserving causes.
