Speech and Drama lessons are offered to individuals or pairs of pupils in the Senior and Prep schools between 9.00am and 3.00 pm on weekdays. Lessons are 30 minutes duration. Sixth form pupils and Upper fifth pupils may be taught during study periods.  Teachers are expected to plan their own weekly timetables to cover a six week half term period taking into account the availability of pupils and dates published in the school calendar, and to post timetable details on the School’s intranet system half termly.  Hard copies of timetables should also be posted in Ashby and pupils should be emailed electronic copies at the beginning of each half term. Dedicated accommodation will be provided for teaching Speech and Drama. There may be occasions when Speech and Drama lessons will need to move to alternative accommodation. Most pupils in senior school will work towards LAMDA examinations in the grades 3 to 8 range. Prep school pupils begin at Entry Level. Most candidates enter for Acting or Verse and Prose exams.  Teachers should plan for regular Speech and Drama showcase evenings, taking responsibility for organising and for hosting these evenings.
