We are an all-through co-operative school with students ranging from 4 – 19 years.  Staff are expected to make the most of this all through provision and to liaise with relevant colleagues in all parts of the school. The school is over two sites and there may be times when colleagues are expected to work across both sites with students.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of Science, who would also have responsibility for developing and coordinating the extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities within the department. The leadership responsibility (TLR) would be for one year fixed term in the first instance. For a candidate with strong leadership skills, other opportunities would likely be available after the first year.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher and leader who is passionate about teaching science within and beyond the classroom. The successful candidate would join a high performing department, where approximately one third of all our KS4 students sit Separate Sciences at GCSE, and we have excellent uptake of the Sciences at KS5. Expectations of student behaviour and learning in science, and across the school, are high.

Preston Manor School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through state school with academy status, based in Wembley, north-west London, for children aged 4-18. It is a member of the family of Co-operative Trust Schools. It is a large school with approximately 1,900 pupils. Situated within a multicultural community, the school offers additional support for pupils who speak English as an additional language. Diversity and tolerance is a key message in its ethos.
