Job overview

Reputation building opportunities like this don't come up that often, but here's your chance to make your mark as you help shape our new academy.

Here at the City of London, we're aiming to build on the success of current schools by opening new academies. The City of London Academy, Shoreditch Park will be a brand new school serving the Shoreditch and Hoxton areas of Hackney and Islington. The building is due to be completed in September 2019 with the school opening with a year 7 cohort in purpose-built modular accommodation in September 2017. We're committed to promoting world-class educational outcomes for the young people we serve. As PA to the Principal, you'll smooth our journey and support us in ensuring the school is outstanding within three years.

Dynamic and proactive, you will help us match and surpass what we have achieved in our existing academies. It's a tall order - The City Academy, Hackney has been one of the top seven schools for student progress in the country for the last three years running. But you'll use your experience and expertise to help us improve on this. With the support of the City of London Academies Trust, you will help our new Principal to create a high expectation culture in which students feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed. You'll achieve this by providing reliable and strategic advice and support to the Principal, day in day out.

Committed to working in a school that improves student outcomes and life chances, you will be highly skilled and have made a significant administrative and strategic contribution to an academy or school. Skilled in multitasking, prioritising, advising and managing upwards, you will have the expertise, drive and determination to help us establish Shoreditch Park as the centre of excellence for education in the south of the borough.

Closing date 10am on Monday 30 January 2017.
Interviews will take place the week commencing 6 February.
