Varndean School requires an exceptional, committed and experienced Personal Assistant to provide high calibre administrative and secretarial service to the Headteacher. This key role offers the chance to operate at the heart of the school, and the successful candidate will promote and exemplify the Varndean ethos of high aspiration, individuality and kindness.
Excellent PA skills and attention to detail are a prerequisite, along with a flexible attitude, the ability to work confidentially and a willingness to be part of school life. The Head’s PA will also manage the recruitment of new staff.
Varndean School is a Good school (Ofsted 2017) and has specialist status in Technology, Music and Applied Learning. The Head’s Office is the voice of the school and you would be working closely with the school’s Senior Leadership Team to ensure the smooth implementation of school’s vision for World Class Education.

Varndean School has a proud history. It has undergone many changes to bring it to where it is now; starting life in the centre of Brighton in 1884 and moving to its current site in 1926. Since then the school has evolved into a vibrant and diverse co-education comprehensive school with a population of over 1400 students and nearly 200 staff which represents the local community it serves.
