Job overview

CEG Digital wishes to engage an Online Tutor for PGCHE in partnership with Falmouth Flexible. This is a post for a self-employed contractor.

Role: Online Tutor (Self-employed)

Module:  PGCHE

Location: Remote

Start Date: December 2021 (training in advance)

Fee for services: £4000 per (6 week) module

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to add an Online Tutor to our roster of talented self-employed tutors with the appointment of a tutor to Falmouth Flexible’s online Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE).  CEG Digital has partnered with Falmouth University to deliver Falmouth Flexible, a programme of blended courses taught online within a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Canvas.

The Course:

This PGCHE responds to the growing focus of Higher Education on developing excellence in teaching and learning, especially that which is not solely concerned with traditional face-to-face delivery but instead combines this with the digital advantages of e-learning. It will help students to develop their practice in line with the rise in blended learning and equip them with the relevant skills, knowledge and reflective expertise to support them within a role in both digital and face-to-face teaching and learning contexts. For those solely teaching face-to-face it will both help to develop current face-to-face teaching and introduce them to blended learning, and the widely acknowledged benefits, so they can consider incorporating this into their own practice.

Academic quality is at the heart of our approach to online education. We believe that effective online and blended courses need to have high levels of human contact and support.  Central to this is the role of the Online Tutor who is a constant presence in the modules to which they are assigned and will usually be the first point of academic contact for online students within the module.  As such, they need to combine skills in online moderation and facilitation, subject knowledge, a helpful and empathetic student-facing disposition, the ability to write and communicate online in a concise, clear manner, and have a high degree of digital literacy.

What does CEG Digital do?

Working closely with our partner universities, CEG Digital helps create, market and deliver part-time online and blended University programmes to students around the world. We use cutting-edge technology, sector-leading pedagogy, and first-class student support to provide an outstanding educational experience. CEG Digital is part of Cambridge Education Group a global company with its headquarters in Cambridge, UK.
