As a member of the KPS leadership team you will be expected to maintain the extremely high standards across the specific phase and lead on a core subject area across our First School.

Kings Priory School is an all through school providing high quality education to 1200 pupils aged 4 – 19. The result of a merger between a thriving independent school and an outstanding community primary school, we are an inclusive, non-fee paying academy with excellent teachers, a family environment, motivated students and a commitment to educating the whole child, both in and outside of the classroom. Kings Priory School recently placed as joint-top performing state school in the region for its GCSE performance in 2016. This comes after The Chronicle names us as having the joint best GCSE results in the North East last year, with 92% of pupils achieving at least 5A*-C GCSE’s including Mathematics and English. Amongst other top headlines, 96% of pupils received an A*-C in Mathematics and in English.

This is underpinned by the chapter system which helps to create a strong sense of attachment for pupils and staff within these schools within a school. The School operates across two neighbouring sites in the centre of the attractive coastal village of Tynemouth with short commuting links into Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Kings Priory School is part of Woodard Academies Trust multi-academy sponsor whose aim is to be a provider of world class education, transforming lives within and across communities. Our Christian Ethos helps to make our school a thoughtful community and we are welcoming, positive and open to students and staff of all faiths and none

Ofsted report

“The curriculum is extensively enriched. This provides highly valuable additional experiences that strongly promote pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development and greatly enhance their personal qualities and skills. Pupils’ behaviour, on both sites, is exemplary. They show high levels of respect for each other and adults. In lessons, most pupils demonstrate very positive attitudes to learning and this contributes to their good progress. Pupils feel safe and very well supported by adults in the academy. The academy’s work to keep pupils safe is outstanding.”
