British Council School Madrid is seeking to appoint an inspiring, caring and dedicated professional to the position of Secondary Philosophy Teacher (with another subject) to contribute to the continued success of an “Outstanding School”, as assessed by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) Inspection in 2015.

Our Secondary Section has 900 pupils in Year 7 to Year 13. The children follow the English National Curriculum and Spanish National Curriculum. We provide children with a unique, bilingual and bicultural education. A holistic approach to teaching and learning is delivered through a broad and inspiring curriculum. Learning is rich, varied and highly valued. Our academic programme encourages passion and achievement in languages, literature, the dramatic arts, sports and public speaking. The successful applicants for the posts will have:

• A desire to join a vibrant team of Humanities Teachers.
• English to the level of, or a level comparable to, first language communicator 
• Ambition, passion and dedication to guide, inspire and challenge young children
• A drive for professional development, continued outstanding practice and challenge
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience, in the last 5 years in the Secondary phase of a UK, international or bilingual school
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience teaching Philosophy
• A good working knowledge of latest UK practices 
• An entitlement to live and work in Spain
