Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Photography.


The Maternity Cover Fixed Term post involves teaching and assessing on Photography programmes across all levels of qualifications offered within the Digital Arts Section including full and part time programmes. Your hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to student demand. You will be responsible for monitoring attendance, retention and achievement. As well working within a team of Photography staff you will have a specific tutor group/s for whom you are responsible.


This post requires sound specialist knowledge of Photography Subjects, including theory, current industry practice and technical knowledge of relevant industry standard software, Studio lighting skills, and knowledge of Social Media.


 This role requires a positive and proactive approach to teaching.  The successful candidate will provide a strong focus on a differentiated learning experience.  The post holder will work closely with the Programme Leader to develop, deliver and assess programmes within the Photography department and across the Digital Arts Section. They will liaise with the Programme Leader and course team to promote high levels of retention, achievement and success and carry out assessments, tutorials and moderation in line with curriculum and quality requirements. 


 The successful candidate will have a related degree level academic/vocational qualification in a Photographic subject areas and a teaching qualification. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expert up to date knowledge in Photography and have a skillset to match.
