Whole School KS1 - KS4 Physical Education Specialist

Due to expected expansion, Durham School is seeking an outstanding and talented Physical Education specialist. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for exceptional, experienced, specialist teacher to play a leading role in the establishment of an outstanding PE department at Durham Dubai.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified teacher with a track record of success as a physical education specialist in UK schools. The teaching degree will be supported by a range of coaching qualifications from accredited sporting bodies. Qualification as a swimming teacher and lifeguard will be advantageous

After a very successful start, Durham School Dubai enters its second year of operation in August. It is expected that, at the start of the next academic year, the school will be two form entry with approximately 400 pupils ranging from Early Years to Year 9. The school is totally committed to quality; class sizes never exceed 20 and all classes are supported by teaching assistants. Durham School Dubai is expanding but the growth is carefully managed; we are adding just one year group each year.

The school is in its infancy calling for adaptability, flexibility and ability to meet challenge in a fast changing environment. The role would suit enthusiastic, dynamic practitioners familiar with the expectations of high quality UK independent school education with a willingness to commit fully to life of the school and its extra-curricular programme including running school sports teams.
