The East London Science School is an oversubscribed school now in its fourth year. The school is seeking to recruit an exceptional ‘Physics Lead Teacher’ to work with the team to develop this unique and exciting school as we prepare to open a Sixth Form.
Under the direction of the Principal, you will lead and manage the Physics Department, taking responsibility for all areas of learning, teaching and assessment as well as outcomes in physics, and to help to realise the vision and ambitions for the school.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly committed, passionate physics teacher to further develop and deliver our unique knowledge-led curriculum aimed at giving students in one of the most deprived areas of the country access to a stimulating and enriching academic education.
Physics is central to the success of the school and we are looking for a talented individual who has a belief in the ability of all students to succeed at physics. We are working hard at tackling students’ weaknesses in physics whilst at the same time holding out the highest ambitions for each and every student. We have worked with a variety of high achieving schools in developing our approach and the successful candidate would be joining an ambitious and forward thinking team.
This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to develop our unique enrichment curriculum including working with outside speakers and organising visits across London. All our students will study GCSE physics.
The successful candidate will have a major role in guiding our first cohort through these examinations.
