Physics Teacher

The Latymer SchoolEnfield

PHYSICS TEACHER

We are seeking to appoint a Physics Teacher.  The post is full time and permanent commencing January 2022.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach KS3 to KS5.

The Latymer School is a high achieving, but caring grammar school in North London.  Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities.  Pupils at the school recently described the school as one “family” and it being a “real community”.  We are very proud of our school and believe it is a place where you can really teach and develop.

The Science Department is well organised and resourced and provides a supportive working atmosphere for staff.  All lessons are taught in modern laboratories as practicals form a large part of our practice.

All sciences are popular options at A level. Physics results are very high, the most recent externally graded (pre-COVID) results in 2019 being 92.7% of students achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE (with 53.9% achieving grade 9 and 78% Level 8/9), and at A level 82.1% A*-B (with 28.4% achieving an A*, 56.7% A*/A and 92.5% A*-C).  The AQA Triple Science course is followed at GCSE and classes are taught by subject specialists from Year 9.  The AQA AS/A2 course is followed at KS5.

If you would like to work with a supportive team in a friendly environment, with guaranteed A level teaching, then we would like to hear from you.

Further details are available on the school website.

Closing date for application:  10am on Monday, 27th September 2021

The Latymer School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.  We expect all staff to share this commitment.  Any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory ‘Enhanced with a Barred List Check’ through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
