Our school and host city

More information about the school and our host city can be found on our school’s dedicated TES page at https://www.tes.com/jobs/employer/international-school-of-monza-1066703as well as on our website at https://www.internationalschoolofmonza.it. The school is one of several very successful Italian schools belonging to ISE (International School of Europe) which in turn is part of Inspired (www.inspirededu.co.uk), a worldwide network of premium schools offering global best practice and professional development.

What the International Baccalaureate said about us during their October 2018 five-year evaluation visit:

* ISMonza is ‘unrecognisable’ compared with five years ago - teachers and programme coordinators have worked exceptionally hard to develop it into a truly wonderful school, both in terms of curriculum and facilities;

* teaching and learning is excellent, often outstanding;

* the school's own self-evaluation of its ongoing development is exceptionally well aligned to the findings of the visiting team;

* staff are professionals with a deep understanding of modern educational research;

* the relationships between students, parents and staff are very positive.

The position

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physics with Science (IB Diploma & MYP 11-18 years old) to join two other teachers in our experimental sciences team (one Chemistry specialist, one Biology specialist), as well as contribute to the wider MYP/DP team. We expect that the teacher appointed will teach a slightly reduced timetable in the region of 17 hours per week, with several hours per week also set aside for laboratory preparation. The contract offered will be a permanent appointment.

We are looking for teachers who show a high level of initiative, flexibility, creativity and organisational skills, as well as a commitment to co-curricula initiatives.

Our school is made up of a strong team of individual specialists who have built a uniquely collaborative environment. As such, we expect our new colleague to be committed to such an approach, as well as to high standards and a desire to ensure an excellent profile for the subjects and programmes they teach both within and beyond our school community.

• to have had recent experience teaching the subject(s) with students aged 11-18;
