The School is looking for a self-employed piano tutor to teach for 4-6 hours per week. You would be teaching girls in Years 7 - 13 and girls and boys in Years 12 - 13.
As a school with a specialism in the Performing Arts, Music plays a very important role and Music tuition is at the forefront of extra-curricular provision.
You will join a friendly and supportive team of 15 peripatetic teachers and be welcomed into the Music Faculty. Our teachers are highly regarded in the music world and perform regularly alongside their teaching.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role will involve teaching students one-on-one in a range of styles. Experience of piano tuition is essential and a minimum of Grade 8 piano is expected, as is experience of preparing students for their ABRSM, Trinity and LCM exams, as well as GCSE and A Level performances.
HOURS
Initially 4-6 hours teaching per week but with the opportunity to expand to a maximum of 7.5 hours depending on student demand. The ideal candidate would be able to offer regularity of service and provide 30 lessons throughout the year, split across 3 terms as set by the School on a regular set day each week between 8am and 4pm. Current teaching days available are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Although we require the teaching day to be set, some flexibility can be offered occasionally.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
• Previous piano tuition experience.
• Friendly and enthusiastic with a passion for piano.
• Experience preparing students for ABRSM, Trinity and LCM exams.
• Able to provide a reliable, consistent service (regularity of teaching days).
Desirable:
• Performance experience.
• Music graduate or well-qualified in Music education/performance.

The St Marylebone CE School is an all-girls secondary with co-educational sixth form in Westminster, central London. It is affiliated with the Church of England and designated a National Teaching School. Since 2011, St Marylebone has had academy status.
