  • Monday to Friday
  • 40 hours per week (52 weeks per year)
  • Timings between 08.00am – 19.00pm

Role:

We are searching for a Pool Plant Operator who will manage and maintain the main swimming pool and other facilities within the Aquatic Centre.

This job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the Collegiate and the role develops. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and the employees of the Collegiate need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description. 


Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Carry out regular pool water tests and analyse results to determine what action needs to be taken
  • Ensure traps and filters are kept clear
  • Maintain a functional and organised pump room environment
  • Ensure chemical room is up to standard and properly stocked; chlorine barrles are full and present, chemicals are stored and handled safely etc.
  • Adhere to relevant industry legislation and organisational policies and procedures
  • Report faults to in-house maintenance team for repair
  • Alert Management of any potential issues and ensure appropriate action is taken to prevent or resolve as quickly as possible
  • Work with the Commercial Manager to consistently improve facility procedures and standards
  • Liaise with in-house Stores team to manage deliveries
  • Work as part of a team and independently as required
  • Work with other departments within the Estate to ensure the smooth operation of facilities, such as Boarding, Academic, and PE.
  • Lifting/movement of equipment as required for maintenance and cleaning
  • Supervision of facilities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures set out by the SFM. Including leading of outdoor activities at Muggles Activity Centre
  • Setup facilities to meet the needs of the external groups. Facilities refers to any area utilised by external groups i.e. classrooms, meeting rooms etc.
  • Monitor and track the loaning of equipment, e.g. sports, and keys

 

The Appointed Candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with swimming pools
  • Experience in working within water treatment (Desirable)
  • Experience of working in a Leisure Centre (Desirable)
  • National Pool Plant Operator Qualification
  • First Aid Qualification (Desirable)
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Desirable)
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently with little to no supervision
  • Ability to handle a physical workload for the duration of a shift
  • Ability to work outside and in potentially wet & dirty environments
  • Ability to educate others in the event of staff absence
  • Flexibility with working times (weekends and evenings)
  • Excellent communication skills across all departments
  • Ability to complete incident forms and keep records on file in line with industry standards
