Practical ICT/Computing Teacher for individual students with Special Educational Needs.

Cotswold Chine, part of Novalis Trust, is a small independent residential and day special school for young people aged 7-19 years. The school is a trauma informed organisation supporting young people who in some cases have experienced childhood trauma and adversity and who as a result have complex needs.  

We are looking for a practical based ICT/Computing Specialist teacher with a particular interest in supporting students with this subject with special educational needs, including those with autistic spectrum disorder, attachment disorders and other learning and behavioural difficulties.   

The post is suitable for qualified teachers in primary/secondary education who would like to specialise in delivering practical based sessions.  

Experience in special needs is not essential as training is provided. The ability to form relationships with young people and a flexible approach to working with others are important.  

The successful candidate will work with small groups/or individually in the dedicated Media room.  They will lead practical sessions to stimulate learning in ICT/Computing.  They will be affiliated with the education team with a dedicated day for preparing sessions, building relationships with young people and training.

Starting Salary (NQT) £23,569 pa. Teachers with relevant experience will be placed at the appropriate level of the pay scale.
