Pre-Prep School Secretary

Ardingly College Nursery and Pre-Prep is a wonderful setting in which to work, learn and teach. We are fortunate to be a self-contained unit situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with easy access to all the facilities of the main school site. The Pre-Prep offers a well-equipped, bright and modern teaching environment with purpose-built classrooms, playgrounds and our own dining room. The Pre-Prep School, known locally as the Farmhouse, is situated in an idyllic location and we make extensive use of the 230 acres of woodlands, streams and fields to enhance learning and create a unique, child-lead curriculum.

The school is co-educational and has up to 100 children from Reception to Year 2 in addition to those attending the Nursery. We aspire to deliver an outstanding education through the highest standards of teaching and staff are encouraged to develop their skills and understanding. The school has a warm and friendly atmosphere where children and staff can flourish and fulfil their potential and where learning is fun.

We are an enthusiastic and supportive community who believe strongly in encouraging every child to develop an excitement about school life and love of learning. We teach creatively using the children’s interests as a springboard to learning and staff are encouraged to use all the wonderful grounds and facilities available to them at Ardingly to stimulate the children’s interest and create marvellous memories that will last a lifetime.

Strong pastoral care of each child is a key feature of the school and through our ‘Discovering my world’ initiative we seek to encourage the values that will make sure that every child has the best start possible to build their confidence and teach them how to become an essential part of the community whilst not losing their individuality; how to blend communal spirit with personal best.

We are also a school that believes strongly in supporting parents and have wrap-around care to assist all parents. Through our extended day, we ensure continuity of care and that the highest standards are maintained.

Staff at Ardingly Pre-Prep ensure that the children are given a firm academic foundation and encouraged to develop the personal skills that will ensure future success. This is reflected in our most recent ISI report (February 2018) which judged the College to be Outstanding in every aspect: academic provi­sion and the quality of teaching, the personal development of the pupils, and governance and leadership.
