We are looking for a committed and motivated Premises Maintenance Operative (Caretaker) to join our site team at King Henry School. This position will assist with the care of the academy premises, ranging from general maintenance duties including minor repair and refurbishment works, porterage, cleaning and other duties, supporting the current site team in ensuring the health and safety and security of the site.


Applicants need to be trustworthy, reliable, hardworking, physically fit, conscientious and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Ideally, you will have good DIY skills, some knowledge of Health & Safety, basic IT skills and an understanding of safeguarding. We offer fantastic training opportunities so can provide support if there are any areas that you may need to be up-skilled or trained. The successful candidate will be joining an experienced team and be expected to work under the direction of the Site Manager.

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working 36 hours per week. The shift pattern is as follows: 

  • ​​​​​​​Shift 1 - 5:30am - 1:30pm
  • Shift 2 - 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • Shift 3 - 11:00am - 7:00pm or 12:30pm - 8:30pm if the Senior Leadership Team have meetings.
