Job overview

Bursted Wood Primary is a popular over-subscribed school in Bexleyheath with 510 children age 4-11years on roll.

We offer high standards in education and believe our children to be quite exceptional; they are respectful, kind and demonstrate a desire to learn.  Our school motto of ‘Care and Respect’ is exercised by all and considered to be an important factor in ensuring our continued success.

We are seeking to recruit a Premises Manager to commence as soon as possible. This is an important role within the school for which key attributes are vital.  You will be hard working, flexible and committed to creating the best teaching and learning environment for all.  Good communication skills are essential as well as a friendly and approachable manner.

You would be joining our team at a very exciting time as we continue to expand to three form entry.  No two days at Bursted Wood are the same, with duties and demands on your time changing according to the needs of the school.   For the right candidate, there are excellent opportunities for professional development in place.

There will be a need to respect confidentiality at all times.  Please only apply if you genuinely enjoy working within a child centred environment.

References will be requested for those short listed ONLY, and prior to interview. Only applicants shortlisted for interview will be contacted and an interview date will be arranged that is mutually convenient to all parties.

If you think you fit the criteria stated and possess the skills and attributes on the Person Specification document, please complete and return the application to admin@burstedwood.school   You are also welcome to telephone the school office for an application form on 020 8304 9960.   We look forward to hearing from you.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  An enhanced DSB will be required for this role.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school  therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.

Please note:  Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

We look forward to hearing from you!
