Support Services for Education
Working Together - Providing Opportunities
Support Services for Education is a newly formed traded unit within Somerset County Council offering a wide variety of support services for all education providers.
You will contribute to the work of the re-established School Improvement Team and its overall strategy for monitoring the performance of all Primary, First, Infant, Junior and Middle schools across Somerset, including academies, providing challenge and support where appropriate. The Team is also responsible for supporting the Senior Primary Advisor in meeting the Local Authority’s statutory responsibilities in terms of assessment and moderation procedures in its schools as well as developing collaborative and innovative approaches to school improvement, the national curriculum and models of leadership in this constantly changing education landscape.
You will need to be a qualified teacher with considerable experience at either Headship or a Senior Management level in a school or in an advisory capacity with a Local Authority. Additional management/education qualifications are also required.
