The visual arts are central to any Merchiston experience and the opening of Merchiston Castle International School, China (MCIS) in September 2018 creates an exciting opportunity for a committed teacher of Art to take their career forward at an innovative co-educational day and boarding school in Shenzhen, Southern China.
During our opening year, the successful candidate will need to be fully committed to planning a full range of visual arts activities and learning, thereby laying the foundations of a programme which will be at the heart of school life,. both in and out of the main curriculum. Developing the experience of Art in colleagues' primary classrooms and addressing the needs of the school's Gifted programme by extending the experience and skills of talented artists are both important.
A position of responsibility may be available to a suitably qualified person.
Merchiston Castle International School
MCIS will offer an innovative British independent school curriculum for international students aged 6 – 18, starting in Key Stage 1 and culminating in IGCSE and GCE A Level. The campus, inspired by the ethos of Merchiston Castle, Edinburgh, is designed to create the kind of innovative learning spaces in which an effective 21st century education can take place.
