GEMS Wellington School is a premium school educating students from the ages of 3-18. The school opened in 2015 and has undergone rapid growth during this time with just over 1000 students on roll, making it one of the leading schools offering an authentic British style education in Qatar.

We deliver the Early Years Foundation Curriculum to our youngest learners followed by the English National Curriculum across Primary and Secondary, culminating in a broad offering of GCSE, BTEC and A-Level qualifications. Our graduating students go on to study at universities across the world including the UK and US.

We are extremely ambitious for all our students and staff, and aspire for excellence in all we do. Our strong community ethos and culture is built around a clear set of traditional values and behaviours, including integrity, honesty, respect and hard work, in which we expect every member of our community to exhibit. At WSQ we believe that any barrier to learning can be overcome and that by providing a supportive and challenging learning environment, alongside high-quality teaching and learning opportunities, every student can thrive and succeed. This is supported by our adoption of the High-Performance Learning (HPL) framework in which we are now one a few select schools worldwide working towards the HPL World Class Award.

We strongly believe that education is far more than academic excellence. Students should have the opportunity to explore their strengths and interests whether that is in academics, sports, performing arts, coding or more. Through this approach, our aim is to ensure that when students leave WSQ they are well prepared for the rapidly changing world, not only with the desired qualifications but also with a ‘can do’ mindset, self-confidence, a love of learning and the resilience to effectively overcome future challenges.

As part of our aspirational desire for ongoing improvement and excellence, we have recently been inspected against the British Schools Overseas (BSO) standards. The overall quality of education and care that we offer was judged to be excellent; with our curriculum, teaching and assessment, SMSC, student health and welfare all being graded outstanding. We are also a Council of International Schools (CIS) accredited school.

Our level of commitment and dedication to the students in our care also extends to our teachers, our greatest and most valuable resource. We are fully committed to ensuring the ongoing professional development of each and every member of our team, something that is supported by our personalised and innovative approach spanning a number of alternative pathways and opportunities.
