History and Ethos

The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) is one of the leading international schools in Kuala Lumpur offering contemporary British international education to students from Pre-Nursery through to Sixth Form (ages  2-18). Since opening in 2009, BSKL has become the school of choice for expatriate and Malaysian parents looking to provide their children with highest levels of education.

The school is now part of Nord Anglia Education, the world’s leading premium schools organisation. We are a family of 54 international schools, boarding schools and private schools located in 24 countries around the world.

BSKL has been graded as excellent in all areas of educational provision by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and was one of the first schools in Asia to receive the COBIS Patron’s Accreditation. Our recent academic results are comparable to that of top UK independent schools and unprecedented in Malaysia, with 82% of last year's (I)GCSE students achieving A*-A.

Location and Facilities

The school  is located in the neighbourhood of Bandar Utama, an attractive suburb about 25 minutes from the central business district.

BSKL has three visually arresting campuses - Lower, Junior and Secondary - providing a range of excellent learning environments, including a 9-a-side covered sports field, three indoor sport halls, two swimming pools, two full-size football fields and a fully equipped 650-seat theatre. The classrooms and specialist spaces are open and light and contribute to a vibrant, modern environment where exhilarating learning can take place.

In August 2016 a superb new Secondary campus opened incorporating the latest ideas and up-to-date features such as a 3D printing room and creative breakout spaces.  The campus feels like a modern workplace, preparing students for university and future employment.

Career Development and Benefits

A career with BSKL offers all the opportunities associated with a dynamic, global organisation. We offer an excellent salary and benefits package, including housing, international medical cover, annual flights, relocation allowance and bursaries for accompanying children.

We also provide fantastic learning and continuing professional development opportunities, both within the school and across Nord Anglia Education.

The Future

In September 2016 we welcomed our first A Level cohort, providing our pupils with the opportunities to attend top universities around the world. In an increasingly competitive market, BSKL continues to strengthen its ambition of being the region’s most respected and highest achieving school.
