Job overview

Summary

Are you looking for your first role as a qualified teacher? Canary Wharf College has an exciting opportunity for a Primary Early Career Teacher to join the Trust in September.

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic professional who is committed to the highest standard of education, to join this highly effective and driven Trust. We are able to provide experienced and skilled staff to mentor and provide high-quality support to ECT’s during the induction programme.

About Us

Canary Wharf College is a fabulous place to work. In this multicultural school community, pupils and students are well-behaved and motivated with good discipline and supportive families. The staff team are creative and enthusiastic and are committed to providing a high standard of innovative education. Staff development is a key priority and we boast a unique collaborative approach where, through regular meetings, leaders support all staff to take ownership for their own development. This is completed by providing both high quality guidance and promoting employees to make research-informed decisions, as well as attend tailored internal and external CPD.

Our schools are part of a highly successful Multi-Academy Trust. Routines and collaborative working are embedded in our practice, but we constantly seek to improve our work and thus seek energetic innovators. The Trust welcomes staff and pupils from all faiths while operating within a Christian ethos.

We are based in a quiet setting in the heart of the Isle of Dogs in Tower Hamlets, yet close to Mudchute, Island Gardens and Crossharbour DLR stations and central London. The school works long days, balanced by shorter terms.

Areas of Responsibility

The key responsibilities of the role will be to:

  • Keep pupils safe and provide an environment of high expectations to support exceptional behaviour.
  • Teach a knowledge-rich curriculum where pupils make excellent progress and are passionate about learning.
  • Ensure reading is prioritised to ensure all pupils master basic skills.
  • Engage in continual training and development to become a master of your craft.
  • Assess pupils knowledge, and provide feedback and interventions gill gaps to secure learning and catch-up.
