Nestled between the Hajar mountains and the clear blue waters of the Arabian Gulf, Ras Al Khaimah Academy Family of Schools is based in Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost Emirate of the UAE. Just one hour’s drive from Dubai International Airport, the Academy provides UK and IB education to almost 3600 students from 78 nationalities across its 5 schools, each with its own unique character.
Due to continued growth in student numbers, we need a Teacher of EAL who wishes to be part of a professionally dynamic, supportive and forward thinking learning community, in a safe, family-friendly setting. We are looking for a primary-experienced EAL teacher, or primary school literacy specialist, ideally to start immediately, but would be willing to consider applicants with a January start date.
Suitable candidates may also be considered for the role of EAL Coordinator.
The successful candidates must:
-Have experience as a primary teacher.
-Hold a first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in primary education (i.e. PGCE/GTP), with Qualified Teacher Status and some degree of formal EAL training and/or experience.
-Have the ability to use IT to support teaching and learning.
Please note, that due to regulations, we can only consider applicants who have formal qualifications in primary teaching, or who hold QTS or are just finishing their training (with regard the latter, we are a BSO school and can help an NQT to qualify for Qualified Teacher Status).
