Job overview

Our primary academies did better than schools in the best performing LA last year. The Harris Federation average of 71% of pupils achieving national expectations in English and Maths was 4% above the best LA and 18% above the national average of 53%. Would you like to work with us to continue to improve and maintain our position as the top performing Multi-Academy Trust?

We are looking for an Executive Principal who has a strong track record of high performance and can bring energy, drive and enthusiasm to their role in the Federation. You will join a highly collaborative team of Executive Principals, a Regional Director and Primary Director, taking responsibility for ensuring great outcomes in a group of our academies.

The successful applicant should be able to work flexibly, prioritising the needs of different academies, and travel around London will also be required.

Why work for the Harris Federation?

As a top performing MAT, we offer a highly supportive network of academies, principals and mentors to help develop and progress your career.

Harris is a Federation and not a chain; each Harris Academy is different, reflecting the particular aspirations and leadership style of its Principal. All of our primary and secondary academies are rated 'good' or 'outstanding' by Ofsted and we are recognised for transforming the life chances of the children and teenagers we educate.

We look for talented individuals who are able to transform the most challenging schools in and around London into exceptional places of learning.

If you would like to discuss the post in confidence please call Sabeena Hasan, Primary Director, on 020 8253 7777.

For further information, or to arrange a visit to a Harris Primary Academy, please contact the PA to the Primary Director at: PAPrimaryDirector@harrisfederation.org.uk

Harris Academies are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check. In line with our commitments to safeguarding, the Harris Federation uses preferred agencies and is unable to work with any agencies where Terms of Business have not been agreed by both parties prior to an engagement.

The Harris Federation is a not-for-profit educational charity with almost 25 years of education experience in and around London. Our primary, secondary, all-through and sixth form academies have an international reputation for delivering a step change in education standards.

In joining a Harris Academy, you will be working with some of the country’s most exceptional teachers, support staff and leaders. There are frequent opportunities for internal exchange and promotion; our CPD is regularly described as Outstanding; and we have a package of staff benefits that rivals the most competitive of other professions.

Each Harris Academy is led and run by its senior leaders and has its own curriculum and way of doing things. What our Academies share, however, is a commitment to giving their children and teenagers an excellent education within a happy, caring and supportive environment.

There are Harris Academies in many different settings – inner city and suburban – but they are all within a maximum ninety minute commute from each other. This enables a highly collaborative structure, with on-call support from the Harris Federation.

You can find out more on our website (www.harrisfederation.org.uk) or by following us on Twitter (@HarrisFed).
