We are looking for an outstanding, dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic Primary Head Teacher to join our Leadership team in August 2020. 

Established in 2005, Deira International School – Dubai Festival City is a fully inclusive international school, for students aged three years to eighteen years. ROLE PURPOSE:

To provide professional leadership and vision to formulate the strategies and school development plans, marketing strategies, curriculum development, organizational change and recruitment ensuring high quality education for all students and improve standards of learning and achievement

KEY ROLE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leadership

 Show a clear vision, sense of purpose and high aspirations that leads to student and school improvement 

 Reflect the school’s ambitions and goals through strategic planning

 Run an equitable and inclusive school in which each individual matter and all pupil are safe

 Lead school culture and environment that successfully develops the full range of students’ learning capacities – academic, creative, social-emotional, behavioural and physical

 Inspire, motivate and influence staff/students and set the highest standards

Learning & Teaching

 Ensure there is an innovative broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all leaners

 Robustly manage the performance of the staff including support staff to bring about improvements

 Continuously and effectively improve the quality of learning and teaching

School Administration 

 Oversee management of school records and resources as necessary and ensure necessary compliance

 Use effective financial management to help the school to achieve its educational priorities

 Systematically manage pupil’s behaviour to create an effective climate of learning

 Efficiently manage the recruitment, retention, deployment and workload of the staff

People Relationship 

 Collaborate with teachers, parents and students to provide the best education for each student and assist them in their academic and professional goal

 Utilize meaningful feedback of students, staff, families, and community in the evaluation of school programs and policies

 Develop professional learning networks within schools, as well as local, regional, national and international communities

School Development

 Provide guidance and counselling services to students on their academic or vocational goals and aid with behavioural modification programs

 Rigorously evaluate the school’s strengths and weaknesses and use the findings to secure ongoing improvement

 Identify and develop the leadership capacity of staff and create effective teams

 Use performance data incisively to support, monitor, evaluate and improve aspects of the school

 Secure the effective professional development of the staff including induction and where required the school’s contribution to training beyond the school

 Maintain active involvement in the school improvement planning process by providing resources for decision-making and priority setting

PERSON SPECIFIC:

Education: Master’s degree in education, doctorate preferred, teaching certification (NPQH certification)

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:  5-7 years’ experience as a Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher
