We are seeking qualified candidates for Primary Math and Science Teachers in China for the 2017/2018 school year. The globally recognized BASIS.ed curriculum, combined with the BASIS Primary Model for teachers, provides for a standard of academic excellence that is raising the bar for international schools.

Our co-teaching model allows BASIS’ Math and Science teachers to focus on rich subject based lesson instruction and create an environment fostering academic acceleration. You are able to focus on teaching one subject area to create deep and meaningful lessons rather than preparing several subjects every day. BASIS Teachers are part of one of the most collaborative and professional teaching communities. This collaboration allows for our teachers to develop students helping them achieve their full potential.

BASIS Primary Subject Expert Teachers (SETs) are knowledgeable, passionate primary teachers that believe that with the right support and encouragement, any child can excel. We hire elementary school teachers with academic degrees or an educational emphasis in the disciplines they teach. You will work collaboratively with Learning Expert Teachers (LETs) to cultivate a joyful learning culture where hard work is celebrated and where intellectual pursuits result in extraordinary student outcomes. While the LETs help you focus on instruction they customize education to meet the individual differentiation needs of each student.

Primary Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare subject specific lessons for elementary aged students
• Providing subject instruction on a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment and delivering exceptional results for all students
• Implementing BASIS.ed curriculum by designing effective and creative lessons and assessments to ensure students’ education is at a truly internationally competitive level
• Collaborating with other BASIS.ed teachers to form a community of smart, talented and interesting people who are passionate about education and readily willing to work in a professional, academic environment
• Tutoring students in content-specific knowledge (math, sciences, fine arts, engineering and world history – just to name a few) and skills to heighten the trajectory of students’ academic and career success

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Two years of teaching experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Math or any Science
• Teaching Certification or Qualification
• TESOL certification preferred, but not required
• Experience teaching English as a learned or secondary language preferred
