Job overview

Deliver and assess a planned, balanced, progressive programme of PE to Primary School pupils.
Operate as part of an innovative, evolving team to increase quality and quantity of Physical Activity / PE / Sport for primary aged children.
Deliver a programme of PE to develop the whole child.
Maintain good order and discipline among pupils.
Contribute to the Health Promoting Schools agenda.
Work with key partners; i.e. Primary PE Team, Class Teachers, Headteachers, Sports Development, Education Development Services, Active Schools Officers.
Contribute to cluster planning with key partners.
Contribute to Active Schools agenda.
Link with CPSSA planning and programming and promote and actively encourage involvement in the annual programme
Ensure involvement in transition projects with Pre-school and P7 pupils.
Actively encourage pupils to participate in After School Clubs, Sport Development Classes, Community Clubs.
Enthusiastically promote Primary School age pupils to help them enjoy being physically active during and after school and help meet the PATF  recommendation of an accumulated1 hour physical activity per day
Ensure PE programmes are enjoyable, safe and fully inclusive.
Embrace and support the ethos of all partner schools.
Ensure Learning Outcomes where appropriate are included in Personal Learning Plans.
Plan, deliver, assess, record and report on appropriate aspects of pupils’ attainment and achievement.
Attend all training dates, team meetings, school meetings and parents’ evenings  as planned and discussed.   

Requirements
Applications are invited from suitably qualified GTC registered teachers.
 
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council and the cost of this check which will be deducted from your salary.
