Are you looking for that next step into a promoted role that offers you entry into the exciting and rewarding world of Teaching? Do you want the experience and exposure of teaching assigned year groups without the responsibility of your own class? This position may be of interest to those with experience as a Teaching Assistant looking for promotion, or those looking to commence a PGCE in the future and need to solidify their experience prior to this. The position is to commence in September 2018 on a fixed-term basis until the end of the Academic Year.
The role is very rewarding and there is a high level of responsibility and although there is always a teacher close at hand if needed, there is a large amount of autonomy. The main purpose of this role is to oversee lessons for teachers who are scheduled for PPA Time. You will be expected to liaise with the teacher or Primary Pupil Progress Leader who will set the cover work for the lessons. Following Academy policies you will then supervise the class through the lesson providing support and encouragement as appropriate and dealing with issues as they arise. It is essential that applicants hold a GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in English and Mathematics; current knowledge and understanding of the Primary National Curriculum; and demonstrable Classroom Management Skills.
As an Investor in People, the Academy offers excellent career and professional development. The Academy is outer London but with Inner London pay and offers a Teachers Pension, free on-site parking, free use of the gym, subsidised meals and family friendly policies including dependents entitlement.
