Job overview

The British International School of Casablanca is conveniently situated a few miles to the south of  the city that is Morocco's financial and business hub. Our primary section opened in September 2017, followed by our secondary school one year later. We are a COBIS compliance member and are undergoing ISI inspection for British School Overseas (BSO) status in December 2019. Due to quick expansion, we currently have around 300 students on roll and will grow over the next few years towards our capacity of 1000 students. We provide an outstanding British education with international mindedness to girls and boys from Nursery to Year 13; students enjoy the Early Years Foundation Stage, moving on through Key Stages 1 and 2 in Primary, eventually culminating their learning adventure by taking IGCSEs and A Level. The student body is truly international, with local Moroccan children being joined by friends from across the globe; language of instruction is English, apart from in French and Arabic language lessons. The school follows the Cambridge International Curriculum, which is richly augmented through topic based learning and enrichment activities. The facilities at the school are excellent, including purpose built classrooms with interactive whiteboards, a fully equipped theatre, purpose built drama and music rooms, two computer suites, a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, two sports halls, all weather sports fields and running tracks and a three floor library block. Students benefit from small class sizes allowing for unusually high one to one contact with teachers, with primary students being supported by at least one teacher and one adult. The school has in place support teams for EAL and students with additional needs. The school has invested heavily in learning; candidates familiar with SIMS, GL Assessments, Class Dojo, Education City and Golden Time are encouraged to apply; knowledge of the Cambridge International Curriculum is useful but not essential as many of our staff are trained in the National Curriculum. The ability to move at short notice and having expertise in teaching EAL students will be an advantage.

We offer a warm, pleasant working environment with various professional development opportunities. The teaching staff are mainly from the UK, but we welcome applications from all outstanding, qualified teachers. The successful applicant will become part of a compact, highly skilled, professional team of international colleagues. Being an ambitious new school, we expect a lot from our staff and look to colleagues to make their mark on our maturing organisation; we are an excellent school for aspiring, future leaders to gain experience by taking on responsibilities. We look for those who will relish the challenge of building a learning community, are genuinely willing to commit to the whole school and who have the grit and positive attitude to thrive in a dynamic, challenging and rewarding school.

Due to continuing, rapid expansion, a Key Stage 1 Teacher will be required for late August 2019.

The location
