Description St Joseph’s Primary School Gloucester is seeking a Temporary Classroom Teacher to work (0.7) on a Temporary Job-Share contract teaching a triple composite class, years 4/5/6. • Receive up to $1500.00 payment, made to assist with relocation costs *evidence of relocation must be provided from employee plus;
• Receive an upfront payment of $1500.00 gross in addition to your first pay *Must complete entire temporary appointment from term 2-4, 2019, if you do not fulfil your appointment payment will need to be re-paid to the CSO.
Position Requirements • A relevant understanding of the philosophy of Catholic Education.
• Ability to teach in the relevant curriculum area/s
• High level knowledge of the relevant key learning area/s and a proven capacity to improve student learning particularly incorporating IT.
• High quality classroom teaching skills which enable students with a diverse range of needs to achieve their full potential.
• Exemplary values and attitudes appropriate to professional practice and the intellectual, physical and social development of students.
• Ability to successfully implement and evaluate curriculum initiatives in accordance with curriculum and standards framework.
• Demonstrated capacity to reflect critically upon professional practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning.
• Commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities as a member of the school team.
• High level of communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents and other teachers.
Essential Criteria • Be appropriately qualified as a four year trained primary teacher
• Record current NESA and Working With Children number on application as well as Date of Birth.
• Evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. (https://etraining.allergy.org.au/login/index.php) Note: To start or return to working as a teacher in a NSW school, you must be accredited by NESA.

St Joseph’s Primary School is a mixed, mainstream, independent Roman Catholic primary school in Gloucester, New South Wales. There are approximately 38 students enrolled and caters to pupils in kindergarten to Year 6. 

St Joseph’s Primary School was founded in 1919 when the Sisters of St Joseph arrived in town. It’s registered by the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW as a member of the Catholic system in the Diocese of Maitland – Newcastle.

Class sizes are kept small so every child can have one-on-one attention and they also have access to learning support officers to enhance their education. Classrooms are equipped with the latest technologies including iPads, laptops, smart boards and video conferencing facilities. 

Curriculum

The curriculum is inclusive of students of all abilities and talents, using the latest technologies and contemporary resources to supplement school lessons.
