Responsible to:    SLT

Contract:             Permanent, full time

Salary:                  Competitive, Leadership scale

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Goresbrook Primary! We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join us and play a significant role in the lives of our young people, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The success of Goresbrook is underpinned by a dynamic and highly motivated team of professionals, working and learning in a warm and inclusive environment. We passionately believe that all our children have infinite potential, and it is our job to empower them. We are determined to make a positive difference for all of our pupils, and we are specifically looking for like-minded staff who are committed to supporting and advocating for pupils with SEND.

The role:

As a Qualified SENDCo at Goresbrook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that pupils with SEND receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement personalised learning plans, accommodations, and interventions that address the individual needs of our pupils with SEND. You will provide guidance and training to staff to ensure an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, and you will actively promote the principles of inclusion throughout the school community.

About you:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about improving the educational experiences of young people with SEND. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the diverse needs of pupils with SEND and possesses excellent knowledge of effective strategies and interventions. Your enthusiasm, motivation, and creativity will be essential in engaging and inspiring our school community.

Additionally, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop collaborative partnerships and provide ongoing support and guidance. Experience in coordinating and leading the implementation of SEND provision would be advantageous.

If you are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of pupils with SEND and are committed to inclusive education, we would love to hear from you.

About us:

We are a 2/3 form entry primary school, from nursery to year 6, and are extremely proud of our team who continually work towards providing our students with the best possible learning outcomes. You will be joining us in our new school building, which has been designed to provide an environment tailored to benefit both children as well as staff (including free on-site parking!)

We are a hard-working team and are passionate about working with staff to facilitate their continuous professional development. As a group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight Inset days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

We would love to speak to you about this opportunity and visits to the school are warmly encouraged. Please email hr@goresbrookschool.org.uk or call the school on 0203 597 6666 and we will be happy to arrange this.
