About the school:
European School Copenhagen (ESCPH) is a public, international school under the Municipality of Copenhagen and the first of its kind in Denmark. The school is a department of the internationally-renowned Sankt Annæ Gymnasium.
ESCPH opened in August 2014 with four Primary classes in an English and a Danish language section. Today, the school has 15 classes from grade 0-5 in Primary and grade 1-2 in Secondary. In the coming school year, we will open further classes in Secondary and a new French language section. When the school is fully phased in, the school will have nearly 1,000 pupils.
ESCPH is an accredited school within the established European School system and as such offers a European education, combining the rigorous educational requirements for European Schools, with Danish pedagogy and working guidelines.
In October 2018, the school moved into a brand new state-of-the-art school building in the Carlsberg City District of Copenhagen, a few stops from Copenhagen central station.
Available position:
- 1-2 permanent, full time positions as primary teacher in the English language section
Requirements:
- Teaching qualification is essential
- Fluent English speaker
- Proven experience in teaching the relevant age group
- Outstanding commitment and ability to engage students and assist in developing their social, creative and academic skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a class room teacher
- Experience in teaching a variety of subjects
- Experience in international or intercultural education
- Proficient IT skills
- Commitment to a high level of student achievement with a supportive, positive and non-judgemental attitude
- Skills to assist pupils in navigating an international, culturally-diverse environment
- Experience in language acquisition (English as a second language or additional language)
- Proactive attitude to school development
- ICT, PE and music skills are considered an advantage but not a requirement

The European School Copenhagen is an accredited school under the internationally acknowledged system of European Schools, known for their high academic standards and declared mission to build bridges between cultures.
The school is co-educational and offers a multicultural and multilingual education for nursery, primary and secondary students, from age 5 through 19.
European Schools follow the curriculum of the European Schools system, with a strong focus on learning languages and science to a very high standard. The education leads to the internationally recognised European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma.
The school opened in 2014 and currently has around 850 pupils in nursery class to secondary 5 across three language sections - English, Danish and French. The school is still growing the French language section and will see the first Secondary 7 classes graduate in the summer of 2023. When the school is fully phased in, there will be close to 1,000 students at the school from nursery class to secondary 7.
At the completion of Secondary 7, successful students are awarded the European Baccalaureate diploma, which is an officially recognised entry qualification for higher education in all EU member states and many other countries.
Location
The school is located in the Carlsberg City district of Copenhagen, in a state-of-the-art school building completed in October 2018. The school is close to the city centre and near public transport. The exciting new learning environment includes teaching and practice rooms, an auditorium, sports hall and other facilities, including a canteen and production kitchen, where the children help with the preparation of healthy school lunches.

The European School Copenhagen is a publicly funded international school under the Municipality of Copenhagen and education at the school is free of charge. The school was established to provide more international school places in Copenhagen and admission priority is therefore given to children of European Union institution staff members and international employees, who have come to Denmark to work. The admission criteria have been decided by the Municipality of Copenhagen and are outlined on the school's website.
