Unpromoted Teacher Scale - £27,498 - £41,412 pro rata

A vacancy has arisen at Troqueer Primary School for a part-time temporary teacher commencing in August 2021 for a period of up to one year. The successful candidate will be required to work 17.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will provide creative learning and teaching across the school and should demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. They will carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Headteacher.

This post forms part of Dumfries Learning Town schools and/or the Bridge to deliver courses as part of the BGE and /or senior phase curriculum as appropriate to meet the needs of our learners.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
