Camdean Primary School was opened in 1953. It is a co-educational, non-denominational school and one of four schools in Rosyth.

The school comprises 16 classrooms, gym hall, dining hall, stage area and office accommodation. A purpose built nursery is attached to the school with its own entrance and garden/play area. There are extensive areas for play with both tarmac and grass areas all around the school. A community garden has been developed in an area behind the school.

We strive to create an ethos in our school which promotes the highest possible standard of education for our pupils. The curriculum is enriched by the involvement of Music, Drama, PE and Art specialists over a two year rota. We also have a number of visiting instrumental instructions.

There is a Parent Council which has organised many successful social and fund raising events over the years. The group work together to support the work of the school by providing resources additional resources for nursery and school and also engaging with councillors on the school's behalf.

Parents are also regularly in school helping a variety of support roles. Any parents wishing to offer some time to school should contact either of the Depute Head Teachers. All parents have to go through disclosure checks. We have a Pupil Council which meets regularly throughout the year and provides a valuable input to school life. Recently our pupil council has been working with the other Rosyth primary schools building valuable links within the community.

We work with the Active Schools Co-ordinator to provide a range of extra curricular activities, these include multi activity for P1-3 children, dancing, cheer leading and yoga for staff. Dunfermline Athletic in the Community provide us with coaches for football.

We also usually organise an extended residential outing for pupils P6 and P7. Recent visits have included Northern France, London and Portsmouth. A visit to Dalguise in Perthshire has been In 2009. We also utilise the local environment to support a wide variety of curriculum studies, working closely with the Rosyth Garden City Association.
