Eichendorffschule Wolfsburg Primary Teacher for primary school

We are searching for a Primary Teacher to join our primary school team in two of our four “Early Bird” classes. This is a permanent position (with six months probation period) within the expanding Early Bird project.. This role is based in a German Primary School in a pleasant area of Wolfsburg, with motivated children and supportive parents.

The Early Birds Project focuses on early immersion into the English language for German children in Kindergarten. The job is within Primary School, so most of the children will already have been learning English for three years.

The advertised position is to work for 28 hours teaching time a week with necessary working times such as preparation time, staff briefing, parent`s meetings etc. on top. The successful candidate will be responsible for two classes (probably 2nd class ages 7-8 and 4th class ages 9-10). We benefit from small class sizes of up to 25.

Responsibilities: Plan, teach and assess Primary aged German pupils using the British and German curriculum (support from an English speaking teachers will be available). Lessons to be taught bi-lingually (team teaching with a German teacher): Science, Sport, and Art, English lessons to be taught alone (immersion), cover for the other classes is sometimes required, as well as lunchtime and playtime cover.

This is a challenging and rewarding role. Candidates should be open minded, have a sense of humour and work particularly well as part of a team.
Applications should have previous experience working with primary school settings, and must hold a B.ed or a P.G.C.E. in Primary Education. The advertised position is to begin on the 1st of August 2017 (or as soon after this as possible).
